Luna Medina Wolf

"Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)"

"EMDR" has been a buzz topic in the therapeutic community the past few years. EMDR Therapy is an evidence-based treatment primarily for PTSD but has been applied successfully to various other clinical issues. As therapists, we always look for the next training to acquire, to make sure we can help our clients improve and reach their goals. EMDR changed my career completely because I learned I can help people actually heal from trauma rather than just learning to cope with it. Many clients who come to get help for anxiety, depression, low self esteem, anger issues and more do not even know it stems from trauma they experienced. We know that trauma is categorized as more than catastrophic events. Research shows that repeated exposure to Adverse Childhood Events (ACEs) can actually be more detrimental to the human mind than a single event trauma for many people. If you want to hear more about how EMDR can help treat trauma and other conditions, in addition to trying some techniques for yourself from phase two of EMDR, than this workshop is for you!

Participants will:

· Describe the 8 phases of EMDR

·  Articulate the Adaptive Information model (AIP)

·  Understand the "Three Pronged Approach" to trauma recovery

·  Deploy Reducing Techniques: Breathing, Tapping, Polyvagal Exercises and more
